The Asheville Class Gunboats were built in response to the Cuban Missile Crisis.  There original role with the US Navy was patrol of the Caribbean, but they were deployed to Southeast Asia also for coastal patrol. All but tow of the boats have been taken out of service, having been scrapped, donated to museums, or give to other Navies.  USS Chahalis and USS Grand Rapids are operated by the Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Each of our profile drawings represents a specific time period in the ship's life. That's why we ask for your "years of interest." Our artist will configure the ship's profile and stats to conform to that time period.  A range of years provides sufficient information, or you can enter "at commissioning" or "at decommissioning."
